02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
EAAC is a club established to provide opportunities for young people aged 9+ to participate in athletics. We offer structured training sessions in a safe and supportive environment, providing pathways for young athletes to progress and reach their potential regardless of background or ability. Our Trustees, qualified coaches and volunteers give their time freely to support training, competitions, fundraising and running the club. We help people develop fitness, skills, confidence and self-belief. Being part of EAAC helps athletes build friendships, develop resilience and teamwork, and experience a sense of belonging. We aim to inspire a lifelong enjoyment of sport and create positive opportunities Affiliated to Scottish Athletics, we support athletes from their first steps through local, regional, national and international competition. We welcome volunteers, coaches and trustees who can help strengthen the Club and create opportunities for young people and the wider community
