02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

A Rainbow unit provides a supportive environment where girls aged 4–7 can explore new activities, build confidence, make friends and learn through play. It follows the Girlguiding programme, helping girls develop skills, creativity and independence through games, crafts, outdoor adventures and simple challenges. The unit is run by trained volunteers who ensure activities are safe, inclusive and age-appropriate, encouraging curiosity, kindness and teamwork while introducing girls to the wider Girlguiding community.
