02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Charity was established to provide governance of CR Cats which is a canoe club, located close to the village of Alva in Clackmannanshire. The club primarily provides access to participation and coaching for the canoeing disciplines of canoe slalom and wild water racing at the club site and across other venues within UK. The club aims to introduce young people from around the age of 10 to the sport. Age range of paddlers ranges from 8 to around 50. Many of the club coaches are senior paddlers with club members competing in ranking events across the UK. The club own their site at Alva with several other local organisations making use of the facility, in particular local Scout and Guide units.
