Constitutional objectives
4.1 The advancement of community development by providing BME, refugees, asylum seekers and migrants living in the Lanarkshire area with services/activities that will ensure they have full and equal access to all resources available that may assist in their settlement within communities, prevent social exclusion and allow them to live more fulfilled lives. 4.2 The advancement of education by providing the aforementioned groups with access to training and learning opportunities that will enhance knowledge, understanding, skills and employability. 4.3 The relief of the aforementioned groups in need (by reason of race, age, financial hardship, ill-health, disability, or other disadvantage) through improving understanding of individual rights and responsibilities, assessing entitlement to welfare benefits, providing assistance in claiming benefits and providing comprehensive advice around issues such as housing, health, debts etc. in order to alleviate the disadvantages experienced.
