02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Speech Bubble Drama was founded initially to build confidence in voice through drama however as we launched during lockdown, filmmaking became a great way of sharing stories and soon developed into a regular part of our offering. Our sessions are delivered by professional actors, film makers and vocal coaches and are designed to be inclusive, fun, and empowering—placing creativity agency and enjoyment at the heart of learning. Through drama, storytelling, and performance, participants develop not only vocal skills, but also confidence, connection, and a sense of self. We are particularly passionate about the positive portrayal of disability in the arts and media, and about ensuring that young people with physical disabilities see role models who reflect possibility, creativity, and ambition.
