The saving of lives by providing initial care ahead of the emergency ambulance response - which can include cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation - to individuals in respiratory or cardiac arrest, or who are unconscious, or experiencing a serious or life-threatening medical condition. And to provide awareness sessions within the community that aim to teach life-saving skills and encourage wider participation in fund-raising initiatives to increase the number and availability of public access defibrillators.
