What the charity exists to do
Slanjayvah Danza is a rural-based dance charity that advances the arts and supports wellbeing through accessible dance activity. The charity creates and presents professional dance work, drawing on contemporary and traditional forms, and delivers participatory programmes for people of all ages and abilities. Activities include performances, workshops and creative movement sessions, with a focus on communities that have limited access to the arts, particularly in rural areas. Work is led by professional artists and delivered in partnership with community organisations and venues in Scotland and internationally. Through these activities, the charity aims to increase access to the arts and support social, physical and cultural wellbeing.

Constitutional objectives
The advancement of the arts, heritage and culture through the creation of artistic opportunities for people and communities of all backgrounds, abilities and ages to view, create and participate in high quality traditional and contemporary arts and dance, in particular by: 3.1.1 Developing professional touring productions, workshops and professional development opportunities in traditional Scottish, Spanish and contemporary dance practices. 3.1.2 Providing access to traditional arts, contemporary dance, music, song and storytelling in community contexts, particularly in rural and hard to reach communities. 3.1.3 Nurturing new and existing regional talent in the traditional arts, contemporary dance, music, song and storytelling. 3.1.4 Designing and providing accessible arts projects which build wellbeing and resilience in people and communities, in particular by: 3.1.4.1 Engaging with those who face significant challenges and barriers to the arts. 3.1.4.2 Creating partnerships with a focus on supporting and delivering programs which have a wider social purpose and meet the wider health and social care agenda. 3.1.4.3 Championing community cohesion and diversity through the arts, working with rural and underrepresented communities to celebrate their achievements and social differences
