02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Supporting Our Community (SOC) provides of recreational facilities and activities through our social hub, workshop, and community garden, and delivers a range of activities that allow the local community to meet and pursue a host of hobbies, pastimes, and interests. We deliver groups, events, and sessions within our hub, workshop, and garden, which are aimed at tackling isolation and loneliness, these classes include knitting, sewing, crochet, traditional needle craft and many more, all of which are community led. We take referrals from a wide range of community partners and signpost our participants to other agencies and groups within the locality

The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 To advance provision of recreational facilities and activities through establishing a social hub and delivering a range of recreational activities that will allow the local community to meet and pursue a host of hobbies, pastimes and interests. 4.2 To advance health through providing a range of mental health support services in order to help people maintain and/or improve their mental health and wellbeing.
