Constitutional objectives

4.1 To preserve Slovak (and partly other Slavic, such as Czech and Moravian) folk dances, songs, traditions and folk music (including singing games, folk tales, folk drama and folk costumes) to make them known and to encourage the practice of them in their original forms for public benefit, for the benefit of the Slavic community in Scotland, the UK and beyond and for the benefit of next generations. 4.2 To promote the knowledge and practice of Slovak (and partly other Slavic, such as Czech and Moravian) folk dances, songs, and music by means of dance classes, dances, demonstrations, performances, festivals, culture events and other like methods for the benefit of wider general public and for the benefit of the Slavic community in Scotland, the UK and beyond. 4.3 To promote and encourage research into and study of the origins, development and traditional practice of Slovak (and partly other Slavic, such as Czech and Moravian) folk dances, songs, and music and their relationship with those of other countries. 4.4 To promote the traditions, cultural heritage, wellbeing and community development of the Slavic community in Scotland, the UK and beyond through making the folk dances, songs, music and traditions known to the community and the general public.
