02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We continue to develop and maintain atherapeutic garden in the grounds of Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline for patients visitors and staff

Constitutional objectives

The association's objects are: To advance the health including relief of ill-health of patients of Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline, Fife and their visiting relatives and friends. The Fife Health and Social Care Partnership have a garden in the grounds of Queen Margaret Hospital called “The Haven”. As a calm and tranquil place, they see the design and features of this garden as being specifically conducive to patients’ physical, social and mental health. To ensure full accessibility for patients, this garden has hospital bed and wheelchair access throughout and features semi-private sitting areas. The garden is also open to patients’ relatives and friends as well as staff. To maintain the special character of this garden requires constant upkeep and development. The aims described here will be pursued by working together with the Partnership, including Hospital management and staff, to maintain and further develop “The Haven” with the continuing needs of patients to the fore
