02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity was initially set up to provide a new, reliable community minibus for use primarily by those living in the rural South Mearns area of Aberdeenshire. It only took six months to fundraise sufficient money to buy a new 14-seater, wheelchair accessible Renault Master minibus. This is now used by community groups, eg pensioners groups, scouts, walking group, but also by individuals in wheelchairs who need transport to medical appointments. We have a bank of around eight volunteer drivers who help us achieve our aims and the charity is managed by a group of five Trustees who meet regularly to ensure the smooth running of proceedings.

Constitutional objectives
to provide a recreational facility, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. This will be achieved by the provision and maintenance of a reliable community minibus which will counter the disadvantages of rural isolation in the Mearns area. and to advance the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by providing them with the means to access a range of facilities and opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible to them
