02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Tay Valley Connections is a SCIO which currently has 4 trustees and 3 members of staff who work partime, and around 50 volunteers who deliver a range of services to the community. Its aims are to build community by helping people, helping people help each other and helping people to get around. As a result there is capacity to respond to indivdual requests for help, provide help with shopping and prescription delivery and organise litter picks. It provides a community information centre for local people and visitors to the area, plus a growing transport service which helps people get around in one of the most access deproved areas of Scotland. We have a great body of volunteers who make all this possible led by our staff. We reorganised ourselves last year to increase efficiency, connect better with our community and work in partnership with the many organisations in the area.
