02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

CSC is run entirely by volunteers, promoting water sports through recreational facilities, and preserving Fortrose Harbour's heritage through historical engagement. • The clubhouse has social, catering and changing facilities. and training amenities • Maintained harbour, slipway, race box, car park, and dinghy park • RYA-certified sailing and powerboat training by club member instructors • Two St Ayles skiffs for rowing, with cox training • 18 dinghies for recreational sailing and training • 2 Humber RIBs and a Honda water sports safety • Informal training for sailors and safety crews • A full sailing and rowing programme, plus social events • Moorings for cruisers • Community engagement, including collaboration with Avoch Sea Scouts • Harbour history through research and presentations • Financed by membership fees, activity charges, and occasional fundraising, it ensures facility upkeep, equipment maintenance, and instructor training
