02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity was set up to encourage reforestation in denuded parts of a stretch of the Zambezi Valley. The charity aims to provide materials and equipment to allow schools in the relevant area to raise their own saplings for distribution in their communities. The charity also aims to plant fruit orchards at 4 schools between Chirundu and Chiawa, the fruit of which should be used my the schools and their communities as they see fit.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 To promote environmental protection in the Lower Zambezi Valley in Zambia by replanting denuded areas to regenerate natural habitat and strengthen ecosystems against drought and the effects of climate change. 4.2 To improve the environment for residents of target villages by increasing tree density in order to provide shade, and shelter from wind in the immediate area around homes and schools. 4.3 To provide education on environmental protection within schools by working with local educators, and providing the tools including tree nurseries to enable pupils to actively participate in reforestation of their local area.
