02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Girls’ Brigade is a Christian youth organisation that helps girls and young people develop confidence, skills, friendships and leadership potential in a safe and supportive environment. We achieve this through weekly activities, community service, outdoor experiences, faith-based learning and opportunities to take on responsibility. At 4th Coatbridge Girls’ Brigade, we provide affordable and inclusive programmes that support personal growth, encourage positive values and help girls become active, confident members of their community.

Constitutional objectives
The Company is established for charitable objects and purposes only and in particular is established to help girls become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and through self control reverence and a sense of responsibility, find true enrichment of life. In particular, the Company shall have as its objects the Objects set out in paragraph 3 of the Memorandum of Association of GBS, as adopted on 6 October 2007.
