Constitutional objectives

The SCIO will promote, advance and further its Charitable purposes by operating as a “grant giving” charity which will support financially and otherwise charities and others to achieve, in Scotland, the United Kingdom or beyond, aims and deliver projects that are intended to:- 7.1.1 advance health through, but not limited to, supporting university-based research and other matters connected to cancer including causes, prevention, treatment and care. and 7.1.2 advance education through, but not limited to, creating opportunities and breaking barriers to alleviate the impact of socio-economic disadvantage, financial hardship or other disadvantage which may impede opportunity in the fields of science and the humanities and with a view to promoting excellence. 7.2 For the purposes of the 2005 Act the following charitable purposes are (i) particularly relevant and (ii) is the charitable purpose identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- 7.2.1 the advancement of health. and 7.2.2 the advancement of education
