Constitutional objectives

4 The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The purpose and objectives of the Organisation shall be to promote, maintain, improve and advance education particularly by promoting and encouraging the study, practice and knowledge of the arts, especially folk music. 4.2 For these purposes the Organisation shall:- Organize, promote, manage and conduct a Festival of traditional and contemporary music each year during July in and around Stonehaven. said festival would typically include but would not necessarily be limited to 4.2.1 a range of concerts lectures and workshops on various “folk music” related activities 4.2.2 Informal “sessions” where singers, musicians and the public can meet and play together, thereby raising the public’s awareness of “folk music” and fostering good relations with the citizens of Stonehaven 4.3 From time to time, as decided by the management committee, award scholarships, sponsor or otherwise support individuals or Organisations in the community in the furtherance of the purpose and objectives. 4.4 These activities will serve to: 4.4.1 promote the appreciation and preservation of folk music. 4.4.2 encourage youth participation in, and attendance at, the Festival. 4.4.3 promote new talent. and 4.4.4 encourage active participation in musical activities.
