4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 'The advancement of citizenship or community development', by supporting local charities, voluntary groups and activities in the Dumfries area. 4.2 'The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science', through preservation of buildings, equipment and artefacts associated with the operation of railway activities connected with Dumfries station and the enhancement of facilities therein. 4.3 'The advancement of education', into the history and details of the buildings, activities and infrastructure of Dumfries railway station and surrounding transport networks.
