02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We provide stage 1 trauma-informed support to survivors of abuse and complex trauma 16+, who are neurodiverse and/or have struggles with their mental health. We provide specialised support for survivors who have/are at risk of perpetrating offences, displaying risky thoughts or behaviours or have been/or at risk of being involved with the criminal justice system. We provide 1 to 1 emotional support, improving the survivor’s ability to discuss trauma and empower them with coping mechanisms to increase resilience. We provide practical support, addressing the barriers which impacts their ability to move forward and support them to attend appointments and engage with services, reducing isolation and utilising community assets. We provide Advocacy support, supporting the survivor to understand their strengths and needs, identifying their personal goals, knowing their legal rights, and supporting them to communicate this to others.
