02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Aims and Affiliation: Our church exists for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our community and beyond as commanded by the Word of God. We do this through public worship services and other meetings which are open to anyone who wishes to attend. We are affiliated to the Baptist Union of Scotland. Achievements and performance: In the past year we have made use of our facilities for: Regular worship services, normally morning and evening on Sundays for all ages. We have seen encouraging growth in this area. Weekly prayer meetings for folks to gather together. Blocks of praise and prayer times. Monday evening youth club. Theatre club for young people. Friday afternoon cafe style activities providing friendship, food and company. Regular AA meetings. ABC early years activities for short blocks. Music group activities. Occasional celebrations of varying sorts. School activities organised by Contraflow (a multi church agency)

Constitutional objectives

The purposes are the advancement of the Christian faith, primarily in Helensburgh and also throughout Scotland and the rest of the World by all means consistent with: The Christian Bible The Declaration of Principle and The Vision Statement including (without prejudice to the foregoing generality) worship, ministry, mission, witness, prayer, fellowship, networking, education, community service and the provision of activities and facilities for the community, and the relief of poverty and other social needs, including the support of individuals and other charitable organisations and agencies involved in any or all of these.
