02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Neilston & Uplawmoor First Responders was established to provide volunteers that respond to medica emergencies during time of need, due the volunteers being volunteers we can't always have someone on therefore, we started placing public access defibrillators around which are 24-7 accessible via ambulance control in time of a life threatening emergency. We provide CPR / Defib awareness sessions to provide the community with ease of carrying out these vital skills.

Constitutional objectives
The charitable purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') is the saving of lives. In furtherance of this purpose, the organisation shall:- provide initial care ahead of the emergency ambulance response to individuals in respiratory or cardiac arrest, or who are unconscious, or experiencing a serious or life-threatening medical condition. provide awareness sessions within the community that aim to teach life-saving skills and the use of public access defibrillators. encourage wider participation by the general public in fund-raising initiatives to increase the number and availability of public access defibrillators.
