02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Inveraray Bell Tower SCIO was setup to look after the Bell Tower, to make the bells available for full circle ringing and to make the building accessible to the public. It does this by funding and arranging maintenance on the fabric of the tower. It maintains the bell installation and makes arrangements for groups of visiting bell ringers from across the UK and further afield to perform on the bells. It hosts an annual ringing festival each July. It promotes the tower to tourists and informs via an exhibition in the tower. Funds are raised through its activities and by donations.

Constitutional objectives
To advance heritage by preserving the historic Bell Tower for the benefit of the residents of Inveraray and the public in general as a place of historical and cultural significance, particularly in the context of the Bell Tower's status as a World War One War Memorial and its internationally recognised ring of bells. To advance heritage and the arts by providing a functioning set of full circle change ringing bells for the benefit of bell ringers from across the UK and the world.
