02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity was established with the aim and objective of providing rugby coaching and playing facilities to the young people of Leith and, through the sport’s associated physical, mental and social benefits, help address the social deprivation challenges facing Leith’s 14 decile 1 & 2 SIMD zones. The club runs 2 senior mens teams, a senior women's team these teams participate in Scottish Rugby leagues. We also deliver rugby coaching to 2 secondary schools and up to 12 primary schools within the Leith area. The primary pupils (P4 to P7) participate in a number of age-group festivals we run with older pupils participating in Scottish Rugby led competitions and festivals.

Constitutional objectives
This article 4 shall be interpreted as if it incorporates an over-riding qualification limiting the powers of the Club such that any activity which would otherwise be permitted by the terms of the articles may be carried on only if that activity furthers a purpose which is regarded as charitable. Subject to that overriding qualification, the Club is established for charitable purposes only and the Club's principal purposes are for the benefit of the public in Leith and the surrounding area:- 4.1 the advancement of public participation in sport. and 4.2 the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational facilities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended.
