What the charity exists to do

The collection of indigenous tree seds to grow on as trees and ultimately either plant or sell to rewilding projects.

Constitutional objectives

The advancement of Environmental protection and improvement of the environment to include: The preservation and conservation of native broad-leaved woodland habitats in Wigtownshire, primarily within the Cree river basin and its surrounds. The management of woodlands in the Cree Valley to benefit the local community and the general public who use them for recreational and well-being purposes. The further advancement of wooded areas through the collecting of seed and growing of native tree species at the Cree Woodland Volunteers tree nursery, and the planting of these trees. The wider advancement of wooded areas and hedgerows through the supply to other charities, conservation bodies, Forest and Land Scotland (FLS), farmers, and private landowners of surplus trees. To further environmental protection through the reduction in pollution (greenhouse gases) by planting trees and supplying trees for planting.
