02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To support women by developing their self-confidence and self-esteem and to encourage them to realise that they can take action singularly or collectively to confront the elements of their lives that they would like to change. We also support women to become actively engaged in their local community, by joining other groups or community organisations, taking advantage of training activities, and pursuing further education. As an organisation we help women identify and value their skills, experience and talents and to feel able and confident to share these with others. We are a safe and non-judgemental place for women to spend time away from their domestic / professional lives. We offer various training courses such as sewing, art, Spanish, mental health awareness, sign language etc. We also provide welfare rights advice and 1:1 talking therapy. We hold fundraising, social and cultural events throughout the year for members and their extended families.
