02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Scot Aid exists to relieve poverty and improve the lives of vulnerable people, both in Scotland and overseas. We focus our efforts where the need is greatest, working to ensure that people facing hardship have access to essentials such as food, clean water, and support in times of crisis. We deliver this through a combination of direct aid, community projects, and partnerships with trusted local organisations. Throughout 2025 we have distributed emergency relief to families in difficulty, funded sustainable initiatives designed to help communities become self-reliant, and provided practical support to those affected by poverty and displacement. Our work is driven by our volunteers and generous supporters, whose donations allow us to respond quickly and effectively. By keeping our costs low and our focus clear, we make sure that as much as possible reaches the people who need it most.
