02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We want to reconnect people with their folkloric heritage. Folklore Scotland was established in order to create a hub for Scottish Folklore utilising a multimedia approach to engage new and existing folklore enthusiasts in the Sclatland's rich and diverse expanse of myths and legends. From our bank of stories on our website, to our entensive podcast offerings, as well as some live events, we seek to reconnect people with the tales of the past. Folklore Scotland is grounded in the belief that Scottish folklore has as much, if not more, of a role to play in building community, teaching lessons, and furthering our understanding of our culture today, as it did in the days of our ancestors.
