Constitutional objectives
4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 To advance arts, heritage and culture by procuring funding and other relevant resources for support of the sustainable continuance or appropriate development on a financially and operationally viable basis of community-based, volunteer-led traditional Scottish Highland and Border Games meetings in Scotland incorporating indigenous forms of sport, dance, music, entertainment and unique inspiring skills, and of their relative organising bodies - thereby providing public benefit in pursuance of section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 by sustaining significant elements of Scottish sporting culture, performing arts and heritage, while also improving the conditions of life and general well-being for people in communities across Scotland with provision of relevant recreational facilities and organised recreational activities that preserve, promote and celebrate a range of unique national pursuits and skills. and 4.2 To advance arts, heritage and culture by distributing financial assistance from reserves acquired for the purposes described herein at 4.1, or to provide such other appropriate forms of support, all as agreed and authorised by the charity trustees in accordance with policies determined by them from time to time for the said purposes - thereby providing public benefit in pursuance of section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, as also described at 4.1 above.
