02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Shining Stars ASN Theatre School is a charity for people with additional support needs (ASN) to come and take part in a wide range of activities with their peers. Workshops consist of drama, drama therapy, sensory exploration, makaton choir, discos, holiday clubs, community shows, community festivals. Shining Stars also provides respite for parents and carers, as well as providing information to other organisations and advice services.

Constitutional objectives
4.1 To advance the health, relieve the needs and provide facilities and activities with the object of improving conditions of life of children with additional support needs, and their families, in the central belt of Scotland. 4.2 The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science 4.3 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended 4.4 The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage 4.5 In furtherance of these objectives, the organisation will provide a safe, managed and stimulating environment in which children and adults with additional support needs (ASN) can feel happy and secure, encourage the emotional, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of the children and adults, respect and promote the individual wishes of the parent/carers, children, staff and volunteers
