02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Encampment Trust aims to provide a place of respite and relaxation to members of the hutting community and other local service users, whilst enhancing the natural environment and providing a safe haven for protected species within the vicinity of the site. This is done through the following activities: • Caring for the Forest Environment through regular tree maintenance and management, including felling and replanting when necessary • Providing a protected space for various badger setts located within the site • Creation of a Forest Garden to produce fruit, vegetables and herbs in partnership with the Hutting Community and other Local Organisations • Working in Partnership with local charities to provide Service User Placements
