02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
to promote the prevention and relief of poverty through encouraging and enabling local faith communities to prevent and relieve poverty and/or disadvantage. to increase awareness and promote learning of the impact of poverty with decision makers and wider society through developing and supporting the voices of those in poverty. To encourage the development of partnership across agencies in local communities and in Dundee, working together to alleviate and prevent poverty with those in poverty or disadvantage. To promote the elimination of discrimination. Three main strands of our work are Faith, Fairness and Food & Financial Insecurity. We lead on Dundee Community Food Network and cash First Approach in Dundee and Dundee Fighting For Fairness and The Fairness Leadership Panel. We also provide support to Faith Communities through the Dundee Faith Forum and running interfaith activities that bring people together.

Constitutional objectives
4 The organisation's purposes are: To promote the prevention and relief of poverty and/or disadvantage in Dundee and its environs through encouraging and enabling local faith communities to prevent and relieve poverty and/or disadvantage. To increase awareness and promote learning of the impact of poverty and/or disadvantage with decision makers and wider society through developing and supporting the voices of those in poverty and/or suffering disadvantage. To encourage the development of partnerships across agencies in local communities and in the city of Dundee and its environs. working together to alleviate and prevent poverty with those in poverty and/or disadvantage. To promote the elimination of discrimination (whether on the grounds of race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, poverty or otherwise).
