02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The club is set up to provide a facility for members. guests and visitors to experience and play bowls at all levels of competition from competing in local and national championships to friendly matches with local clubs and inhouse games. The club also provides social amenities within our clubhouse and licenced bar holding numerous events throughout the year. Our membership is divided by playing (which includes junior, senior and full) and social members. The participation in bowls provides benefits in physical health condition and mental wellbeing and literally includes a wide age group. Social functions benefit the local community with a facility that is accommodating and welcoming to enjoy quality leisure time. The club has various policies established to form the basis of governance and control covering. inclusion, safety and health, minors and vulnerable adult protection, charitable fundraising events.

Constitutional objectives
The Clubs Objects are: a) To foster the advancement of public participation in lawn bowls as a sport (and 'sport' means sport which involves physical skill and exertion) in line with the rules and regulations of the relevant regional and national governing bodies. b) The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities , with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, and only in relation to recreational facilities or activities which are available to members of the public at large with a view of improving conditions of life.
