02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Humanists International is dedicated to promoting and advancing Humanism, defending fundamental human rights, and supporting the non-religious worldwide. We achieve this by: Campaigning on humanist issues, freedom of thought, and secularism. Advocating and lobbying for democratic values, human rights, and the repeal of blasphemy laws at international bodies, including the United Nations. Publishing research, such as the Freedom of Thought Report, to inform policy and raise public awareness. Building and resourcing a global network of humanist and secular member organisations.

The advancement of Humanism. The advancement of education and in particular the study of and the dissemination of knowledge about Humanism and about the arts and science as they relate to Humanism. The promotion of equality and non-discrimination and the protection of human rights generally and in particular as it relates to religion and belief. The promotion of understanding between people holding religious and non-religious beliefs so as to advance harmonious cooperation in society. and To do all such other lawful things as are conducive or incidental to furthering or advancing any of the above mentioned objects.
