02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The aim of the group is to bring people together to work on local sustainability projects which help improve life for residents in the centre of Inverness. Based in the Hill district, we operate a community fridge/cupboard which distributes surplus supermarket produce, mainly, on a daily self-serve basis, reducing waste and providing free fruit, veg and other groceries to people in the community without stigma. We also organise events such as play streets, jumble trails and community consultations. We also have a team of volunteers who grit the pavements when necessary. We are a grass roots, volunteer-led and run project.

Constitutional objectives
4 The organisation will operate as a non-profit distributing charity whose principal objectives are: (a) The development of environmental, social and economic sustainability initiatives in our community, in and around the Hill and Crown areas of Inverness (b) The relief of those in need by way of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. and (c) Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes.
