What the charity exists to do
The Charity was set up to focus on three specific areas. These are described fully in its Constitution and the following sentences are an abbreviated version. - The advancement of culture through discussion and understanding of Scotland’s architecture - The advancement of education and public participation in architecture in Edinburgh and Scotland - The advancement of environmental improvement, particularly low carbon.

Constitutional objectives
The Organisation's charitable purposes are: (i) the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and science, together with citizenship and community development through promoting discussion and understanding of Scotland's architecture and design in developing local communities. (ii) the advancement of education, with a particular focus on architecture in Edinburgh and further throughout Scotland, encouraging and providing opportunities for members of the public to take an active part in consultations regarding development of their communities. and (iii) the advancement of environmental improvement, focusing on the promotion of low carbon developments in Scottish communities.
