Constitutional objectives
4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 The objectives of the Organisation shall be to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Port Elphinstone and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved In furtherance of the aforementioned objects but not otherwise: 4.2 To promote as a multi-use community resource. 4.3 To maintain a facility which can be accessed and utilised by the community as a whole. 4.4 To provide education in the broadest sense. 4.5 To encourage community learning and development. 4.6 To strive to work together and maximise community effort, involvement and participation. 4.7 To provide a resource run by the community, for the community. 4.8 To provide a supportive and enabling environment where social inclusion will be realised. 4.9 To establish joint working with partners and the community to deliver programmes and activities. 4.10 To share skills and expertise in order to achieve a common purpose. 4.11 To identify the community's social and educational requirements. and endeavour to offer a needs lead service.
