Constitutional objectives
The objects of the CIO are: To advance education for the public benefit in such parts of the world as the trustees shall decide by providing activities and support which develop an individual’s capabilities, competences, understanding and employability, in particular but not exclusively, by providing IT and software development courses, professional mentoring and employability advice to beneficiaries with the aim of facilitating their integration into a professional work environment. For the purposes of this clause “beneficiaries” are defined as persons granted refugee status and persons seeking asylum and persons whose income is below 60% of the median household income, based on the survey of income poverty in the UK called Households Below Average income (HBAI). Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
