02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Migration Policy Scotland builds a better migration future for everyone. Our vision is a world in which migrants flourish and host communities are enriched. We promote insight and dialogue on migration to turn research into real world change. We draw on different perspectives to ensure our work is grounded in learning, lived experience and the realities of migration in Scotland. We bring together a wide-range of people to navigate complex, cross-cutting issues in ways that prioritise clarity over controversy and find new ways forward. Migration Policy Scotland builds capacity on migration in Scotland. We extend the evidence base and raise awareness. We foster learning, leadership and collaboration. We provide a home for informed responses to the opportunities and challenges migration brings. Our work meets the need for a credible, non-partisan voice on migration in Scotland. Our focus on the full immigration spectrum fills a critical gap in the UK migration sector.
