02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
AIMS OF HARRIS TRUST - To raise awareness and provide training around mental health and neurodiversity. - To support the development of mentoring and peer support programmes for young people. - To support the provision of music, sport and outdoor activities that would enhance the educational and social experience of young people with mental health and/or neurodiverse issues. SUMMARY OF MAIN ACTIVITIES IN THE YEAR Harris Trust engages with the local community (Selkirkshire) and wider Education, Music, Youth and Sports communities across Scottish Borders. Examples of our work include provision of: - Opportunities for creativity through Music Projects in Scottish Borders Schools. - Children’s Rugby Sessions which are autism friendly. - Giving primary and secondary students the opportunity to gain Forest and Outdoor Learning Awards. - 'Rural Skills at Riddell Estate' Level 4 course in collaboration with Borders College. - Funding for the Selkirk High School Tractor Project

Constitutional objectives
1.The Trustees shall hold and apply the sum of £1 paid by us to them, and such other funds and assets as may from time to time be comprised in the Trust Property, in trust for the following purposes (for, but not exclusive to, the Selkirkshire community):- (a) to raise awareness and provide training around mental health and neurodiversity (b) to support the development of mentoring and peer support programmes for young people (c) to support the provision of music and sport activities that would enhance the educational and social experience of young people with mental health and/or neurodiversity issues (d) to promote such other purposes as are now or may hereafter be deemed by Scottish Law to be charitable
