02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Galashiels and Area Foodbank alleviates poverty and suffering by providing food and other necessary items to those in need. We collect food and monetary donations then purchase and distribute the food and other items via two locations in Galashiels. We also deliver to those unable to collect and support local social services and other organisations (e.g. charities and colleges) by providing food packages for their use.
