02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Magdalene Community Centre (SCIO) provides a welcoming space at the heart of the Magdalene area of Edinburgh where local people of all ages can learn, socialise, and take part in community life. We deliver a wide range of activities including youth and children’s clubs, adult learning, wellbeing sessions, lunch clubs, community events and volunteering opportunities. Our work supports local people to build confidence, develop skills, reduce isolation and strengthen community connections. We work in partnership with residents, schools, the council and voluntary agencies to improve opportunities and quality of life for everyone in our community.
