Constitutional objectives

2 The SCIO's purposes are to benefit principally the community of Aberdeen which comprises the Aberdeen City local government boundary ('the Community') with the following objects, principally within the Community: 2.1 The provision of recreational facilities and the organisation of recreational activities, with the primary object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, by reason of their age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage and secondly available to members of the public at large. 2.2 The advancement of citizenship and community development, including the advancement of urban and rural regeneration and the promotion of civic responsibility and volunteering. 2.3 The advancement of public participation in sport which involves physical skill and exertion. 2.4 The advancement of environmental protection and improvement. and 2.5 Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development.
