02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We provide food for people in Caithness who are struggling to make ends meet and feed their families. We also try to ensure these people and pointed in the direction of other services which may be able help. We receive food donations from major supermarkets in the area and have regular and non regular supporters who provide cash which we use to keep the foodbanks running and purchase additional food when donations are not enough to meet demand.

4 The organisation's purposes are: The relief of financial hardship amongst people in Caithness and Sutherland and the surrounding area, in particular, but not exclusively by: 4.1 providing emergency food, essential toiletries, and household items to individuals and families in need and/or for distribution by charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty. 4.2 such other means, including (but not limited to) the provision of support or signposting to relevant information and other advisory services.
