02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are dedicated to supporting people affected by homelessness, extreme poverty and those vulnerable people of Glasgow and the surrounding area. We help people who struggle daily, including families with children, asylum seekers, refugees. We work alongside other organisations to offer advice on housing, employment, debt management and budgeting and centre our work around helping our community. When we started we were predominately a soup kitchen (we feed around 300 people/week and supply approx 50 food parcels each week on top of this) we help around 18,000 people each year. Alongside our soup kitchen in the city centre of Glasgow, we also provide support and guidance to the vulnerable people of Glasgow to help them in their temporary/permanent accommodation by providing furniture, electrical appliances and helping them turn their empty flats into homes. We also support many people at community events we offer at Cadder Community hub to extend our services outside the citycentre
