02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Through our work we aim to - offer opportunities for people in the Cumnock and surrounding area to meet and undertake creative, physical, purposeful, and recreational activities of their choice. - reduce isolation of people in the area thus contributing to their physical and mental wellbeing. - develop the capacity of people in the Cumnock and surrounding area and encourage them to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community. - create and provide a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment where people can meet and work on meaningful projects, socialise, learn and share skills. We have created a new local space called The Hearth. - The development of 39 Barrhill Road, Cumnock has been delivered in collaborative with another local charity. The building is home to a new shared creative wellbeing space. This project will encourage local people in Cumnock and the surrounding area to meet together and participate in creative activity.

4. The purpose of the organisation is to provide recreational facilities and advance the social needs, health and well being of men of all ages and backgrounds living in Cumnock and surrounding area By: Creating, developing and maintaining a facility, namely a Men’s Shed. a) Offering opportunities for men in the Cumnock and surrounding area to meet and undertake creative, physical, purposeful and recreational activities of their choice. b) Reducing isolation of men in the area thus contributing to their physical and mental wellbeing. c) Developing the capacity of men in the Cumnock and surrounding area to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community.
