02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The objects of the society shall be to carry on business for the benefit of the community at large, through furthering, within the Alford Valley in Aberdeenshire (which comprises the postcodes AB33) (“the Community”), the following charitable purposes:2.1 The advancement of community development (including rural regeneration).2.2 To restore, preserve and operate railway locomotives, carriages, wagons, vehicles & other artefacts of historical interest and the structures connected therewith for the benefit and education of the public. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development
