02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Make and Create Arts is dedicated to nurturing creativity by delivering a wide range of creative classes, opportunities and events for children and young people in our local area. Our weekly classes include Drama for three different age groups, Arts & Crafts, Drawing Skills, Ukulele, Creative Writing, Needlecrafts, Film Making, Photography, and our Creative Youth Group. With over 170 children and young people joining us each week, we are igniting their imaginations and inspiring a love for the arts. We proudly deliver 16 creative classes every week for children and young people in our local area with a focus on promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation's purposes are: (a) 4.1 To advance the arts and education of 5 -18 year-olds by offering a varied programme of classes, workshops and exhibitions. (b) 4.2 To advance the arts by encouraging people to be creative and get involved in the arts, supporting art students, promoting positive wellbeing through the arts and creating a strong art community in the area. (c) 4.3 To advance the arts and education of 5 -18 year-olds so that conditions of life are improved for individuals and communities by promoting and encouraging the raising of aspiration and attainment of children and adults. (d) 4.4 To advance the arts and community development by working in partnership with other voluntary organisations, government departments, companies, local and other statutory authorities and individuals towards the promotion of art related educational attainment and life enhancing activities.
