Constitutional objectives

4 The organisation's purposes are: (b) the advancement of education (f) the advancement of citizenship or community development and. (i) the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities In furtherance of these purposes, the organisation will: 4.1 Increase the number of local people taking part in community and self- development programmes, assisting organisations to expand and enrol new members and designing and developing new programmes/activities to address gaps in social and economic service delivery, particularly in the areas of age, ill health, disability and financial hardship. 4.2 Promote a range of training and development programmes aimed at inspiring residents to seek further education qualifications so that they may become economically active. Care for the environment, growing food locally and healthy eating and cooking opportunities. 4.3 Develop health and welfare improvements, setting targets for reducing obesity, smoking and alcohol/substance abuse, increase participation in sporting activities, improving childcare and services to at risk families and developing IT awareness and skills across all age ranges. 4.4 Encourage a spirit of enterprise amongst residents and promote greater self-reliance through community training opportunities, achieved through development of social enterprise and local employment. Actively encourage tolerance and understanding to promote community harmony, equality and diversity.
