02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to promote and develop the traditional Scottish sport of shinty in the Glasgow area. To achieve this the club: - Runs teams for men, women and youths, taking part in Camanachd Association competition. - Links with primary school shinty clubs, offering a pathway for players to continue playing shinty and advance through the age groups. - Welcomes members of other shinty clubs, allowing those who have come to the area to study or work to continue their development in the sport. - Runs social events to support club funds and maintain an inclusive and welcoming community. - Provides its members with essential equipment for playing shinty. As shinty is a minority sport, these items are not readily available from general sports suppliers. - Is an active participant in the Peterson Park Playing Fields Trust along with other users of Peterson Park to secure the future of the facility and continue providing a venue for shinty to be played in Glasgow in the long term.

Constitutional objectives
4.1 The advancement of health through the promotion, fostering and development of the traditional and wholly amateur indigenous Scottish sport of shinty within Glasgow and the surrounding communities 4.2 The advancement of public participation in sport, specifically Shinty, seeking to participate and attain success at the highest level of both men's and women's national shinty competition whilst promoting the ongoing development of the sport at youth level, benefiting members and the wider community . In addition the club will maintain a socially diverse and inclusive culture that develops talent and offers both local people and those that come to the city to live and work the opportunity to become members, play shinty and volunteer within the club, whilst promoting the benefits that playing sport and volunteering can bring. 4.3 The provision of recreational facilities, the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended
