02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Cancer Card is an Edinburgh based charity helping people affected by cancer find essential information. Our mission is to simplify the overwhelming complexity of cancer support. We provide a community of support for everyone affected by cancer, combining personal experience and professional skills linking to and providing support and information services. We do this through our: • Comprehensive online directory of services • Responding to phone and email support requests • Working in partnership with charities and services providing access to financial and digital support addressing digital inequalities • Providing Comfort boxes • Running Health & wellbeing events linking support services to people affected by cancer • Operating an Edinburgh based drop-in centre.

Constitutional objectives
The objects of the company are, for the benefit of the public in Scotland and elsewhere to advance health, by providing non-medical relief and support for those affected by cancer. These are its charitable purposes of Section 7 of the 2005 Act. For as long as the company is entered on the Scottish Charity Register, its purposes may only be altered with the prior consent of OSCR and in accordance with any conditions attached to such consent.
